Radfield signs the Armed Forces Covenant; our commitment to service personnel

Radfield Home Care has proudly signed the Armed Forces Covenant, pledging to recognise, respect & support current & former military personnel and their families.

Our founder and director, Dr Hannah MacKechnie signed the Armed Forces Covenant on 4th December 2022. Witnessing was Gp Capt Andy Baron Station Commander at RAF Shawbury West Midland RFCA.

This comprehensive pledge covers but is not limited to our commitment to present equal opportunity jobs for ex-military personnel and their families.

Hannah said:

“The service and sacrifices of our armed forces provide us with the liberties and freedoms we have today. It is only right that current and former military personnel and their families are supported and welcomed in their communities. It is a privilege to sign the Armed Forces Covenant, showing our commitment to support people who have given so much for us all.”

What is the armed forces covenant?

The Armed Forces Covenant, also known as the military covenant, is a pledge that organisations can sign; promising to be respectful and fair to military personnel, veterans, and their families. It is imperative that military personnel feel welcome and supported in the communities, economy and society they serve. Showing this support can be done in many ways:

Veterans & ex-military recruitment:

Veterans and military personnel possess varied and valuable skill sets and experiences; of enormous value to communities, in and out of the armed forces. These range from engineering and medical training to leadership and problem-solving. The pledge acknowledges that we are advocates of employing veterans, helping them find suitable and fulfilling ex-military jobs.

Promoting and supporting the armed forces:

As part of the covenant, we have pledged to promote how we are an armed forces-friendly organisation. Our commitment is viewable on our website and we promote our commitment to our employees, clients, suppliers and the public. It is a worthy pledge to sign and we encourage our partners to get involved.

Service spouses and partners support & employment:

Spouses, partners and families of military personnel are important pillars in the local armed forces community. Radfield Home Care pledges to support and be advocates of supporting military families with fair employment opportunities and leave flexibility during and after a partner’s deployment.

Support for reserve forces:

We also pledge to support our team members who are in the reserve forces. This includes providing additional leave for reserve forces training, supporting mobilisations, and being supportive advocates of the reserve force.
