At Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port, we believe home care should be about more than just support with daily tasks. It should bring joy, connection and meaningful moments into people’s lives. This November, we celebrated a special “Be There” moment with a complimentary afternoon tea for our adult day care centre members at the beautiful Crabwall Manor Hotel in Chester. It was a heart-warming day of celebration, companionship and seasonal cheer, and a wonderful example of how we help our clients stay connected to the things that matter most.
Radfield Home Care champions care that people want as well as need. Our Be There movement focuses on the meaningful moments that make life fulfilling, particularly for older people who may experience loneliness or fewer opportunities to socialise.
The movement is based on the belief that ageing should be celebrated, not feared. Through companionship in shared experiences, thoughtful activities and social connections, we create opportunities for people to feel seen, valued and truly part of a community. Rather than offering only practical support, we provide connection, purpose and enjoyment – values that sit at the heart of our home care in Chester & Ellesmere Port.
Being there for our clients isn’t limited to care visits. It includes supporting friendships, honouring milestones, embracing traditions and creating memories. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do and inspires special occasions like our November afternoon tea.
Our guests enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes, scones and endless tea and coffee served in the stunning surroundings of Crabwall Manor. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with plenty of laughter, conversation and shared stories around the table.
We were especially delighted to celebrate the birthday of one of our members. She was surprised with a cake, a joyful chorus of “Happy Birthday” and lots of well wishes. It was a touching reminder of how meaningful it is to celebrate individual moments together.
Our Day Care Coordinator, Val Hales, shared her thoughts on the celebration:
“Our day centre members are incredibly special to us. We’ve become like an extended family, so being able to treat them to such a memorable day was wonderful. The Be There movement at Radfield truly sets us apart – it creates meaningful experiences and genuine connections that make such a difference to the lives of the people we support.”
After tea, our group settled into the beautifully decorated living room, complete with a grand Christmas tree and festive décor. We played bingo, enjoyed seasonal games and took photographs beside the tree, lovely keepsakes for our clients and their families. It was a wonderful treat filled with joy, companionship and festive warmth.
