Message in a Bottle

Did you know a simple green bottle in your fridge could help save your life in an emergency? The Lions Club’s Message in a Bottle scheme helps emergency services quickly access vital medical details, even when you’re not able to speak for yourself. Just complete the form with
key information, pop it in the bottle, and store it in your fridge. It’s free, easy, and really works.

We are ordering a supply for our clients, so please let our management team know if you would like one, or need help filling it in. Linked below is Karen’s article from our website about the scheme.

Making Life Fuller

Did you know we can help with errands, hobbies, appointments, and getting out and about safely? Whether it’s a trip to the shops, a coffee in town, or simply a walk in the fresh air, we’re here to make it easier. Loneliness can have a real impact on wellbeing, so we focus on building trusted relationships and meaningful moments. It’s not just about being there, it’s about making life feel fuller, together.

We have had a lovely month. From sunny walks to rainy day cake and hot chocolates, this month’s been full of variety! We’ve baked, made crepes, explored garden centres, played music at Bourne Hall, enjoyed time looking through old family photos and even been to the dentist! Thank you to our wonderful team for making it all happen!

What’s on in July?

Patchworking Garden Project

The Patchworking Garden Project in Dorking is hosting a Summer  Open day. Enjoy a BBQ, homemade refreshments, live music and a popular plant stall. Run entirely by volunteers, they offer gardening and crafting in a safe, friendly space. Free entry and free parking. Sunday 13th July 12pm – 4pm Pixham Lane, Dorking RH4 1QA.

Senior Moments

Senior Moments is a friendship club for 50s + in the borough. Listen to speakers on a wide range of subjects, take part in quizzes and enjoy tea and cake. Meeting on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month, at Bourne Hall 2.30pm-4.30pm. Free and no booking required.

The Leatherhead Institute

The LCA at The Leatherhead Institute are hosting a variety of talks and activities this month. What’s on guides are available to pick up in the foyer.

Across Generations

Spending time with children or grandchildren can lift mood, spark memories, and reduce loneliness for older adults. These moments bring energy, laughter, and connection – benefiting both generations in ways that support emotional wellbeing and stronger family bonds.
