June 2026 Newsletter from Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern

Meet Brad the Radfield Bear!

If you’ve been following our social media recently, you may have spotted a very special new member of the Radfield team…

Brad has officially joined Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern as our new mascot and community ambassador. Since arriving, he’s already been busy getting stuck into office life, meeting the team, and preparing for a packed summer of community events.

You’ll soon spot Brad attending local fêtes, community groups, awareness events, and fundraisers throughout Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern. He’s particularly looking forward to meeting local residents, posing for photos, and helping us spread the word about the services and community initiatives we support. Brad’s role is simple: to bring a smile wherever he goes and help us engage with the communities we are proud to serve.

Keep an eye on our social media pages over the coming months as Brad embarks on his latest adventures. We have a feeling he’s going to become a very popular member of the Radfield family! Be sure to say hello if you see him out and about!

New Community Partner: Physio on the Farm

We’re delighted to be developing a new community partnership with Physio on the Farm, an exciting initiative designed to help older people improve their strength, mobility, and wellbeing in a unique outdoor setting.

Led by physiotherapist Owen, the sessions combine evidence-based exercise with the therapeutic benefits of spending time outdoors and interacting with farm animals. Set within the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, participants will have the opportunity to build confidence, improve functional movement, and enjoy social connection in a welcoming and supportive environment.

As a community-focused care provider, we are passionate about supporting initiatives that help older people remain active, independent, and engaged with the world around them. We know that physical activity plays a vital role in maintaining health and wellbeing, but we also recognise the importance of creating opportunities that are enjoyable and accessible.

We recently visited the farm to learn more about the plans for the programme and are incredibly excited to see it develop over the coming months. We look forward to working alongside the team and helping more older people across Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern access innovative opportunities to support healthy ageing.

Celebrating together: Special birthday moments at our Day Centre

At Radfield Home Care Worcester Droitwich & Malvern Day Centre, we’re proud to create a warm, welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, supported, and truly part of the community. Recently, we had the joy of celebrating one of our clients’ birthdays with a wonderful day full of companionship and thoughtful activities.

To keep cool during the warm weather, clients enjoyed a British summertime themed day indoors, featuring a lively quiz and music bingo that brought plenty of laughter and friendly conversation. before everyone headed outside for a gentle game of Boccia. The celebration was made extra special with a beautifully shared birthday cake, enjoyed with a cup of tea on the green.

Moments like these reflect what our Day Centre is all about, meaningful engagement, genuine connection, and personalised support that helps every client feel celebrated, included, and cared for.

Happy Birthday, Jane!

June health & wellness Tip: The Benefits of Spending Time with Animals

As we get older, staying connected to the things that bring us joy is an important part of maintaining our wellbeing. Spending time with animals can have a surprisingly positive impact on both physical and mental health. Benefits of interacting with animals include:

  • Reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation through companionship
  • Promoting relaxation and helping to lower stress levels
  • Encouraging gentle movement and activity, such as walking or caring for a pet
  • Creating opportunities for conversation and social interaction with others
  • Boosting mood and providing a sense of purpose and routine

Whether it’s spending time with a family pet, visiting a local animal attraction, or taking part in animal-assisted activities, connecting with animals can be a wonderful way to support wellbeing in later life.
