Bringing the community together for a day trip to Windermere

From scenic ferry rides across Lake Windermere to shared laughter over afternoon tea, some days out simply stay with you forever.

On Friday, 31 July, our team at Radfield Home Care Liverpool North & Sefton enjoyed a truly unforgettable trip out. Clients and members of Marine in the Community came together for a special outing to the heart of the Lake District.

Setting off at 9:00am, the group arrived mid-morning, ready to explore the beautiful town of Windermere at their own pace. Friends and families spent quality time together, creating lasting memories and enjoying one of our regular social groups and outings in Liverpool.

What made the Windermere day trip so special for our clients?

For some the highlight of the day was a scenic ferry ride across the water, while others enjoyed a delicious lunch in local restaurants. Many chose to unwind in the charming tea rooms, sharing good conversation, laughter, and companionship in a relaxed setting.

One of the most amazing moments of the day came when everyone gathered before heading home. Smiles filled the coach as clients shared stories of their adventures, compared photographs, and before the journey had even begun, were already asking when they could return next year.

This was a true “Be There” moment, being present to support people not just with care, but with opportunities to make memories, strengthen friendships and experience the joy that comes from spending meaningful time together.

The biggest compliment of all came on the journey home, with so many people already talking about next year’s Windermere trip. It was clear that no one wanted the day to end!
