At Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, we are proud to have come together with Burscough Manor to host a special community coffee morning during Dementia Action Week. This uplifting event reflected our commitment to home care in Ormskirk and surrounding areas where care goes beyond the practical to focus on emotional wellbeing and strong local connections.
Held in Burscough, just outside Ormskirk, the morning welcomed local residents, families and Care Professionals for warm conversation, shared experiences and compassionate learning. Events like this highlight the role of community-led dementia care in Ormskirk and how we can all play a part in supporting older people to stay connected to what matters most.
Our ‘Be There’ initiative was a central feature of the event, reinforcing our mission to provide personalised home care in Ormskirk. Whether someone receives support at home from our Care Professionals or joins in local community activities, our focus remains the same: to support wellbeing, preserve independence and foster connection.
This approach to personalised dementia care in Ormskirk is designed to reduce loneliness, promote dignity and create space for joyful, meaningful engagement. Through events like our community coffee morning, we help ensure that no one in Ormskirk or Burscough feels isolated while living with dementia.
A highlight of the morning was the moving and educational session delivered by Dementia Friends Ambassador Joe Sherville. With warmth and empathy, Joe shared practical ways to better understand and support people living with dementia. His insights resonated with everyone in the room, inspiring a greater sense of awareness and compassion.
“Joe’s session really opened our eyes,” shared one attendee. “It helped us realise small changes in how we communicate can make a big difference.”
Sessions like these are a valuable part of our community outreach, helping to build dementia-friendly communities in Ormskirk, Burscough and beyond.
As a provider of quality home care in Ormskirk and surrounding areas, we know that ageing well requires more than physical care. It takes community, respect and genuine human connection. Director and Business owner Dave Bellis commented,
“We believe care is more than tasks. It is about connection, dignity and being present. Events like this allow us to support not just individuals but the communities they are part of.”
