Radfield Home Care Ormskirk Joins Burscough Pub Tribute

Celebrating care and community in Burscough

At Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, we were proud to support a special event at Burscough Manor Care Home, located on the historic grounds of the original Red Lion Pub. The event brought the community together to celebrate local history, connection and creativity.

Residents and guests gathered for the unveiling of a stunning replica of the Red Lion Pub, lovingly handcrafted by Paul Lewis, the husband of one of the residents. The space now serves as a nostalgic social hub within the care home, celebrating both past and present.

Red Lion replica pub officially opens

Care Home Managers Sam Smith and Kirsty Fuller joined Paul for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. To mark the occasion, Paul was gifted a custom-engraved whisky glass and a plaque proudly displayed on the pub’s wooden bar:

“Built & crafted by Paul Lewis – 2025
Official Opening of The Red Lion Replica Pub”

It was a heartfelt tribute to the community’s shared memories and the value of meaningful spaces in care settings.

Local stories that bring us together

We were delighted to welcome former Cllr Noel Delaney, who fondly recalled his time at the original Red Lion Pub, especially playing on the darts team. His personal stories added a warm, local touch to the event and reminded everyone of the power of shared experiences.

At Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, we believe delivering outstanding home care in Ormskirk and Burscough goes beyond everyday tasks. It’s about supporting people’s emotional wellbeing, celebrating local identity and keeping people connected to what matters most.
