Radfield Home Care is preparing to host the See Hear Remember exhibition at Theatre Severn on Tuesday, 16 June. This free event is for people living with dementia, sight loss, or hearing loss.
It is a collaborative effort between Sight Loss Shropshire, Community Resource, and Radfield Home Care to provide practical support for the local community.
Karen Corcoran from Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry explains the purpose of the day:
“This event is so important because people living with dementia, sight loss or hearing loss, and the people who care for them, often struggle to find clear information and support in one place. By bringing together around 70 organisations, it helps people discover services, advice and practical tools that support independence and wellbeing.”
Supporting the local community with dementia, sight, and hearing loss
The exhibition is open from 10 am until 3 pm. It offers a space where people can find information and advice in a supportive environment. The event is split across different areas of the venue. Stalls focusing on sight and hearing loss are located in the Walker Theatre; information regarding dementia and other community services is available throughout the rest of the building.
The day is designed for care recipients, their families, and professionals who work in the sector. It is a chance to speak directly with experts and discover services that help people remain independent at home.
Swantje Staar-Slogrove from Sight Loss Shropshire explains why this year is unmissable:
“See Hear Remember is the must-attend event for discovering the latest innovations and support in sensory impairment. Curious to try out a prototype virtual reality guide dog? This is the perfect place to experience it first-hand. With a welcoming and accessible atmosphere, the exhibition invites everyone to explore a wide range of national and local services at their own pace.”
Event details and accessible transport
Theatre Severn is the venue for the day. To make the event as accessible as possible, a free shuttle bus service is available. This service is sponsored by the Housing Plus Group and runs every 30 minutes.
The shuttle bus picks up passengers from Shrewsbury Train Station and the Bus Station. The journey to the venue takes approximately four minutes. This allows time for passengers to board and disembark safely; the full loop takes between 20 and 30 minutes.

“We’re really excited to be part of the Living Well with Dementia, Sight and Hearing Loss exhibition – #SeeHearRemember. It’s a valuable opportunity to support people living with these conditions, their families and carers, while also helping the wider community better understand the challenges they may face. Bringing together information, advice and practical support in one place can make a real difference. We’re delighted to be working in collaboration with Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury and Oswestry and Sight Loss Shropshire, whose expertise and partnership are key to making this event so meaningful.”
Successful community support from previous years
The 2026 See Hear Remember exhibition & information day builds on the success of previous community events hosted by Radfield and its partners. In 2025, similar events in Shrewsbury and Oswestry brought people together to share vital information. These days are more than just exhibitions; they are opportunities for the community to connect.
In 2023, the Shropshire dementia support information day focused on providing a “one-stop-shop” for advice. This approach was successful because it reduced the stress of searching for multiple services separately. The feedback from these past events shows that having experts in one room is incredibly helpful for families who might be feeling overwhelmed.
The organisers and sponsors, including Ethical Workforce Solutions and U3a Shrewsbury, are committed to making this year’s event the most useful yet.
