About Jake

Originally from a small town in Wiltshire, Jake moved to Shrewsbury in June 2021. He loves the outdoors, climbing mountains, exploring woodlands, hills and whatever else he can find. He splits his spare time across the gym, kickboxing and painting. He started painting as a way to kill time during lockdown but it quickly spiralled into a fully-fledged side-business. Most recently he represented Shropshire at the Young Market Trader Finals in Stratford-Upon-Avon selling gothic paintings.

He has always had a creative streak and loves that his career allows him the freedom to create content and help people at the same time.

Jake’s career background

Jake started his working life at Nationwide Building Society Head Office as a Complaints Executive. Spending a couple of years or so handling complaints gave him experience interacting with customers and handling exceptionally difficult situations every day.
Creating bespoke and often long, detailed, letters for customers on a daily basis he developed a passion for writing. Hoping to build on this, Jake applied for a place at Bristol UWE where he studied Journalism for 3 years.

It was at University that Jake learned everything he needed to become a competent Content Marketeer. As part of his degree, he was constantly filming, editing, writing and working with audio. Working with video and creating blog content became his bread and butter.

From University he landed a Marketing Assistant role at a Cybersecurity company. This is where he first put his content creation skills to use in a B2B environment. During his time there he would create in-depth blog articles focusing on extremely niche, technical and tricky topics. It’s also where he first picked up some website development skills, creating web pages and web copy for the brand.

From Marketing Assistant he moved to the role of Digital Content Editor for a digital signage brand. He was regularly creating video content for high profile clients like Samsung, Mercedes-Benz, MINI and BMW.

As Digital Content Editor, he managed a network of around 500 digital screens, ensuring content was deployed and played smoothly. In this role his graphic design skills improved massively, creating video content almost daily and adhering to very specific brand guidelines.

Most recently he has taken up the role of Content Production Manager at Radfield Home Care in the Shrewsbury National Office. It’s here that he is combining all his content and marketing skills/experience to deliver a content strategy focusing on blog content, social media posts, video content and web copy.

He aims to help those that need it most, creating informative and relevant content to not just help older people age well, but empower those that care for them so they can deliver the best possible personalised care service.
