Robert Dancy, Director of Radfield Home Care Tarporley & Mid Cheshire, is celebrating a successful first four months by reflecting on the profound human impact of high-quality care and the warm welcome received from the local community.
Since launching the service, Robert has focused on building deep roots within Tarporley and the surrounding areas. Within just 120 days, the team is already delivering vital day care, companionship, and personal care services to local residents.
These early months have been defined by meaningful conversations, from quiet moments in clients’ living rooms to bustling networking events with local business owners, and even a welcoming cup of tea with the local Vicar.
Robert explains how stepping into the world of home care has been a deeply humbling experience.
“What has struck me most is not the mechanics of the business, but the resilience and stories of the older adults we meet. After our very first day care session, one of our clients turned to me and said, ‘Thank you for treating me; I have had a fantastic day.’ That single moment of gratitude is the ultimate measure of our success.”

To reinforce the Radfield Home Care “Be There” promise, Robert and his team have introduced a new tradition. Reggie, the Radfield “bear that cares,” has officially started a family. Every client now receives their own “Mini Reggie” bear to serve as a constant, cuddly reminder that they are supported and valued by the Radfield team.
The community and client response has been a cornerstone of these first four months. Local networking has evolved into genuine partnerships, with residents and professionals alike expressing a desire for the supportive care model Radfield provides.
As demand for home care in Tarporley grows, Robert is now looking to further build his dedicated care team to ensure the highest standards of service continue.
Looking ahead, the focus shifts toward a ‘Later Life Festival’ this October. This event aims to bring together a wide mix of local services that support older people in a fun, energising, and positive environment.
Plans are underway to host the festival in collaboration with the local GP practice during their flu vaccination sessions. This ensures as many people as possible can access and learn about the vital support available to them on their doorstep in Mid Cheshire.
“Our ambition is to be more than just a service provider; we want to be a pillar of care in Tarporley and the surrounding community,” Robert concludes. “The next few months are about deepening those roots, reaching more families in need, and ensuring that no one in our area feels they have to face the challenges of ageing alone.”
